We have Frameline to thank for all our “Love Sucks” success. If it weren’t for them, we would not have gotten into Seattle or Montreal, we would not have gotten distribution in Canada and we would not have gotten numberous submission requests. The most recent is from the New Zealand’s ‘Out Takes’ Reel Queer Film Festival:
Our 14th festival is scheduled to run from 21 May to 10 June 2009 in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
I understand you are the filmmaker of the film ‘Love Sucks’ which screened this year in the Frameline Film Festival. I just thought I’d let you know submissions for Out Takes 2009 are open and we’d be happy to consider this film for inclusion in our festival next year. There is no entry fee.
Will the film be available in late May/early June 2009? If you’re interested and the film would be available for these dates, we’d very much appreciate it if you could fill out the submission form and return it to us, along with a DVD (preferred) or VHS preview of the film, as soon as possible. If it won’t be available, I’d appreciate it if you could let me know anyway.
If someone else handles international distribution for your film, then please forward this message to them, or let me know and I will contact them directly.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
If you want to check out the festival, too, go to http://www.outtakes.org.nz.
